W3E Championships Report

W3E Championships Report

The first ever live web3 gaming event was one to remember! W3E showcased what the future of web3 gaming can look like on a big stage with a large audience. Not only did W3E display a competitive side of web3 gaming, it also held the W3Expo with some of the best web3 games out there on display. If you were taking a break from watching the action packed tournament you were able to play in the W3Expo, connect with the developers directly and experience many games yet to be publicly released. It was a great experience for everybody that attended and all the online viewers. W3E made sure to put on a high quality production for online streaming and capturing all the great moments of the tournament, while giving out NFT airdrops to lucky viewers on Theta.TV.

The W3E Championships had teams from all over the world competing for a prize pool of $15,000, legendary W3E skins for EV.io, and the title of the world’s first W3E Champion. The tournament was filled with action packed, nail biting and down to the wire games. One team came out on top as the champions but it was not easy to get there. Our finals were one of the best in Esports, a rematch from the Quarter Finals between Xborg and Eternity. It was a best of five games and they took it to all five games! Hard fought back and forth wins leading up to the final match and it did not disappoint. The final match came right down to the very end, Xborg winning in the final seconds of the game and earning the title of the world’s first W3E Champions. We couldn’t have asked for a better finale.

Overall W3E put on a great experience for all. The team worked really hard to make sure this event was one of a kind. W3E gave new opportunities to web3 enthusiasts to play competitively or showcase their game that they all work so hard on to push the space forward. Players, teams, game developers and attendees were all pleased with the whole event and we received wonderful feedback. W3E welcomes everybody and can’t wait to see you at the next one!
